Along the coastline around Santa Teresa in between the long sandy beaches and promontories with their rich seabeds and crystal clear water, there are bays, coves, and inlets which all deserve a visit. With the exception of La Rena Bianca only 2 minute’s walk from the village centre, the others can be reached by car in 10/15 minutes but a few only are accessible on foot or by boat. Most of the beaches are organised with facilities such as bars, toilets and the chance to hire umbrellas, sun loungers, pedalos and canoes.
Santa Teresa Gallura
LA RENA BIANCA
Just 5 minutes walk from the village centre, there is a semi-circular 341 mt long sandy beach, facing the French Isle of Corsica. The high white limestone cliffs of the town of Bonifacio, only 11 miles away, are visible on a clear day. The beach is well protected from the winds by the Isle of Municca on the left and from the headland, where you can see the Spanish tower of Longonsardo, on the right. It has held the blue flag award since 1987and it is particularly suitable for children and equipped with a ramp for the disabled.

LA TALTANA E POLTU PITROSU
Take the road to Capo Testa, after about 2 km turn left and follow the narrow winding road which goes down to the residential area of “Baia S. Reparata” named after the small Church. The main sandy and crescent shaped beach, is surrounded by the Mediterranean vegetation and rocky outcrops that form natural rock pools. Poltu Pitrosu a small cove located at the end of the main road, 400 m further from La Colba, can be reached via a short path from the car park. This place is particularly loved by scuba divers.

CAPO TESTA AND THE BEACHES PONENTE AND LEVANTE
Capo Testa is a promontory 3 km from Santa Teresa, where there are two beaches divided by a narrow isthmus, Rena di Ponente or Talanta, which holds the Blue Flag since 2013, on the left and Rena di Levante (also known as Zia Colomba by the locals or Dei Graniti after the roman quarries) on the right. Thanks to their position swimming in Capo Testa is even possible on a windy day. The entire area is characterized by impressive grey and white granite rocks eroded by the wind into unusual forms,clean transparent water and a thick and varied vegetation of wild endemic species of flowers and plants.


CALA SPINOSA AND CALA FRANCESE
From the narrow isthmus of Capo Testa continue to the end of the road. Park your car, from the Sealounge cafè, go down through the steep footpath right to a a tiny peaceful uncontaminated cove sheltered from the wind and surrounded by massive granite rocks. From the car park follow the pathway up to
the XIX century lighthouse, admire the surrounding wild and rocky landscape and follow the narrow wild trail to the right, which will take you down to the sea with breath-taking views. Ideal spot for divers and snorkelling lovers.


CALA GRANDE (also known as Moon Valley).
Park your car near the wooden gate on the left hand side of the road before you reach the car park at the lighthouse. From here continue on foot following the directions given on the map by the gate. Along this path you will come across a huge mass of granite 15 m long with a series of small holes,
remains of the past and, on your left, a tiny freshwater springlet, this is the main valley.
The area immersed in a thick Mediterranean vegetation is surrounded by various uncontaminated valleys and creeks divided by huge granite rocks eroded into unusual shapes. It is a unique setting which must be visited.

CALA SAMBUCO
(This beach is easier to reach by boat or on foot from Marazzino).
Take the road for Palau, after about 5 km turn left for Marazzino/La Marmorata. At the crossroads turn right following the sign for the pizzeria La Piana, turn left at the sign Cala Sambuco (this road is not tarmacked) Park near the gate and continue on foot. This uncontaminated small creek is ideal for nature lovers. No facilities available.

LA SCIUMARA OR PORTO LISCIA.
Take the road for Palau, after the turning for San Pasquale (on the right) turn left and drive for about 4 km along a road characterized by tamarisk trees, until you reach the beach. The position of this beach makes it popular with surfers around the world and international surfing events are often organized here by local sport associations.

LA LICCIA
Take the road for Sassari, after about 5 km turn right, continue on this road for a further 1 km (this part is not tarmacked) until you reach a parking area. On windy days this beach is popular with surfers.

CONCA VERDE
Take the road for Palau, after about 9 km turn left for Conca Verde. This small delightful sandy beach is surrounded by pine trees and Mediterranean vegetation making it a peaceful setting with a stunning panorama of the isle of Spargi.

PORTO QUADRO
Take the coastal road from Santa Teresa to Porto Quadro in the direction of La Marmorata. As you arrive at Porto Quadro turn left and follow the sign to
the beach.

LA MARMORATA
Take the road for Palau, after about 5 km turn left for Marazzino/La Marmorata, go straight on at the first crossroads and then take the next right. Continue
along this road until you see a sign for the Marmorata Village, turn right and follow the road down to the paid parking area. From the main bay continue on foot along the pathway to a smaller beach called La Laurina. The beaches overlook the island of Santa Maria and the islet of the Marmorata, where signs of a Roman quarry can be seen underwater. Varied facilities are offered.

LA LICCIOLA
Take the road for Palau, after about 8 km turn left for Valle dell’Erica, continue along this road until you get to a paid parking area, from here continue on foot along a pathway to the beach. It is a long stretch of white sand divided into two coves by granite outcrops. The surrounding mediterranean vegetation and the crystal clear emerald waters make it an ideal relaxing spot. From this beach you can see across to the Archipelago of the Maddalena and Punta Sardegna. Beach bar available.

PORTO POZZO
This village is about 10 km from Santa Teresa on the road to Palau. It sits on a natural canal and is renowned for its fishery and the collecting of clams. To the left of the beach there is a small harbour.

LU PULTIDDOLU
Take the road for Sassari, after about 3 km take the turning for Lu Pultiddolu, turn right again into the village Lu Pultiddolu and then follow the road down to
this small and peaceful bay (the last part of the road is not tarmacked).

LA BALCACCIA
It is a beach placed in an isolated and quiet cove. The white sand, the granite rocks that emerge from the water and the dense Mediterranean Maquis make the landscape very suggestive. Little frequented even during the summer season, it is possible to reach only by boat. No services are available on this beach.

ISLET OF MUNICCA
The ISLET OF MUNICCA is an excellent destination for a day of exploration and snorkeling, thanks to its characteristic rocks and its variegated seabed.
Its best known rock is the Man of Municca, a large boulder of square granite, leaning on a slender natural pedestal. Different species of seabirds are
found on the islet. In the past it was definitely one of the places where the granite was extracted, as shown by the many finds.
